Hello, my site (http://www.thecosmotron.com/) is in need of design tips for the layout and template. I can do the coding, it's just that I don't have the ability to create good templates, and when I do have a good idea (the one currently being used) it always comes out mediocre at best. Please, any design tips and/or template changes are appreciated.

Well you could really ditch the table based layout (http://hotdesign.com/seybold) and move towards more semantic markup (http://www.freewebs.com/mytestingzone/sematics.htm).
From a design point of view it all seems fine, maybe a subtle gradient in your background, oh and you could neaten up your affiliates page, but that's about it.

Now, how can I review it if it doesn't let me view it?
You say the templates don't quite come out. You know what jumps out at me... no art. I'd take a little time to poke around some free image stock online.
From what I did see of it, your template had nice fonts. But, the frames didn't flow all that well and the color... looked either a little too Army or a little too much like split pea soup.
I'd also have your content div space out to fill the screen.
You're obviously great at the programming. It's the templates-huh? Maybe you should partner up with a "creative." If your next girlfriend has piercings and gets her fortune told on a regular basis, she could probably help solve that problem forever.
A barrier from letting users view with IE 6... Booo! At least redirect me to a firefox download site. Come on! Linux users have to be PROACTIVE. Get with the program, man...
hey review mine, please. my thread is, "what have I done..."

Wow, that was the best review anyone has ever given for my site! I appreciate it a lot. As for the IE barrier, I had to. With IE, those pages aren't work viewing due to how bad it looks with improper rendering. I will redirect it to the Firefox site though; I like that idea. And yes, I would like to team up with someone who is very good in the design department, but it's quite hard to find anyone willing to do it just for fun. I am the only person working on the site, but I do enjoy that as I am the only one who has any say in what happens. But I would like some help. I am designing a Bulletin Board system by myself and I am looking for a default template designer.
