I might be posting this in the wrong area, but I'm new to this, so please humor me.

I built a site using Yahoo! SiteBuilder and I didn't know that I was supposed to build it using Yahoo! PageBuilder, and since I don't want to rebuild my site, I was wondering if anyone knew how to possibly transfer my SiteBuilder site to PageBuilder? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Finally someone I can assist!

IE stands for Internet Explorer just as FF stands for Firefox. Both are internet browsers which you use to view the WWW.

On internet explorer go to the top menu and choose VIEW then SOURCE this will show you the HTML making up the page which you can then highlight, copy and paste.

Hope this helps!

Si. :D

The other thing is I am not transferring it from a web browser, I am transfering it from a program on my computer, Yahoo! SiteBuilder, so I don't know if that would affect the way I upload it...I'm sorry that I don't understand. I just need step-by-step. :o

When you're connected to the internet just open IE (Internet Explorer) click VIEW then SOURCE. Copy and paste all of that into page builder.

I have used Sitebuilder but I'm not proud about that. Call me crazy but I would guess since the two are made by the same source you can easily import or upload from the two. However Sitebuilder is VERY limited.

I'm not sure how to add HTML to site builder so my guess is page builder is worse.

Umm, that's the same thing that everyone else has been telling me, and it's not helping...please, just tell me from SiteBuilder what to do, exactly, because I'm not going to get my site uploaded to PageBuilder just by clicking View and Source. I mean, I'm not getting a code.

If you can't upload the already created files via the File Manager in Pagebuilder or FTP the files to the site I have no idea. In the time since the original post and now you could have made 10 new websites in Pagebuilder.

If you figure out how to do it tell all of us. Both programs are garbage and not worth any further investigation. Google isn't even helping.

If you don't know what IE is and can't find a view menu on your browser you should probably find something else to do with your time besides make a website. Build a puzzle or fill in your newspapers crossword puzzle.

Oh wait what am I thinking, FTP is File Transfer Protocal

No offense but they do kinda have a point.

That said can you not save the file directly to your computer? You must be able to do this or you would never close the window. Don't close the window... really... look up there at the top in sitebuilder or pagesomething... whatever you made it in and click FILE (most programs for Windows have it) then SAVE AS or SAVE and save it somewhere, preferably your desktop. You should save it with the HTML or HTM extension.

Now RIGHT CLICK the file that you have saved and select OPEN WITH

Select NOTEPAD

now all that fun stuff you see there that is what you want to copy so look to the top of the window (still in NOTEPAD right?) and select EDIT
Then click SELECT ALL
Then click COPY

As far as what you do from here is unknown to me as I am completly unfamiliar with the Yahoo! pagesitebuilderthing but you are looking for a way to PASTE into some sort of SOURCE VIEW.

You ever tried asking Yahoo! about this????? Or have you read any FAQ or HELP files that came with the Yahoo! sitemakerwhatchamajig those tend to be condusive to the learning process when you are trying to get something unfamiliar to work. I know HELP files and FAQ's are a new thing but don't be scared to open them up. They won't bite!

::Edit:: Now that I am thinking about it you are going to have some issues with your links to images and whatnot... You would be better off rebuilding your site. Seriously because if you don't you are going to pull your hair out trying to understand why images and whatnot don't work.
