Hi

Well, not 100% CSS but it´s a good start I think. only 3 pages are in tables and that is for a good reason I believe and one page that I haven´t figured out using divs for a specific reason so I had to use tables there aswell.

I chose to open the window in a fixed 700px width and 600px height, some may not think much about it and some might hate it. But I like it this way and we´ll see what feedback it gets.

It looks very awful in Firefox and I know I know, it is your precious web browser but I had no knowledge to write the code so it would suit in FF and some sweet features does not apply in FF and it only works in IE.

The main css style sheet file might look like a kindergarden to you but when my skills slowly developes it might get better.

I have not uploaded all the pics on this css version but there is one image section where there are thumbnails at least, under pics - fantasy - drakar

it is written in swedish by the way,, but don´t think much about the text just yet

so anyways,,, how does it look so far (in IE) ?

I think the graphics look good! But I would like the new page to load in the same window when you press Enter.

As for Firefox and IE. If you start developing your page in Firefox instead, it will almost always look similar in IE.

(Gött mos, koda på! :))

Hi -
Yes, please code for f-fox - it just means you pay attention a bit more - then tweak as needed for IE. Not sure what 'effects' you're referring to that were only usable in IE - the lightning? IMHO that's not worth having an unusable site for 'the rest of us'! I couldn't view any of the Flash, as the window was too small and cut off the content [and not resizable!], or else the links weren't working. Similar but not so severe viewing/usability problems on other pages, as well.

The graphics are pretty nice - I'd like to see them highlighted more on each page and with more unity in the overall design structure.

Keep going!
El

Hi and thanks for the posts

I am considering to remake the whole site again but to ofcourse keep the same style and I guess I have to set FF as the nr1 priority.

the feature I was mentioning was mostly the dropshadow text and the colored sidescroll, or is it possible to color the scroller in FF?

While I do the remake I think I might aswell have the size dynamical

well well, that won´t happen for awhile :)

Hey, I like the idea ! Very cool graphics !!! It's really nice !
But I don't like the fact that you cannot resize the popup page. Other than that, I think it's pretty good !
I like the lightnenings !! How did you do them ? ( not planning to steal them, I'm just curious... )

Hi Ness

I am pleased you like the idea.
As I mentioned I will plan to make the page dynamic in size so God knows when it will be finished, hehe

The lightennings... do you mean on the first index page?
I did it in the method most webdesigners despy :p .. with marquee using its attributes. Played around a bit and got the desired effect. I am surprised it seems to look good in FF, since it looks awful viewing it on any Mac webbroswer

Whoa ... took almost a year. But I had many other things aside to do but now I..... I really believe I got something going on here. So whaddya think?

*background*
I have redesigned my site totally from scratch, which would make this the fourth version.

I have gone through every page quite thoroughly, validated them and checked the compatibility with the two most popular browsers.... FF and IE on a PC computer. I really don´t give a dang about the Mac since the browsers on a mac are totally... well, crap, and would increase my CSS file to 5MB if I would make it compatible with mac´s browsers. That would be a whole lot of lines.

About the html validation:
Three pages did not validate 100% because of javascript. And I yes... I must have them :) Otherwise I hope the rest of the mark up is well chosen.

I have put up a style switcher as you might notice and quite recently I have also finished translating into an english version. The site is in a subfolder on my company´s hotell. I have also redisigned a new version of that one, which is not uploaded yet.. but that´s another story.

So I have registered a free forwarding address. I would like to have the option for frames checked, in order to hide the real address of the site. But since the style switcher won´t work inside a frame I had to accept it.

So what´s the address then? Right here » siddan.net (http://www.siddan.net)

Thank you Ness, very kind comments. I´m glad you liked that push button :)

Whoa. Now I have taken a giant leap forward and got myself a webhotell for my site.... or should it rather be said... "checked in to a webhotel" ? :) I also took the liberty of registering an own domain address.

Now you can now find it at siddan.net (http://www.siddan.net/index-en.php)

I have one or two questions. The previous webhotel I had, should I do anything about it, regarding my site? I have put a robots.txt file telling the spiders to take that site off from the searchengines.

ok, second Q. Alltho I can enter via only siddan.net in the address field of the webbrowser. But should I really link it like this?... or does it even matter if it is www ahead or not, regarding to statistics and google ads.
From my account information the address says only siddan.net.

Yeah I really like most of it the graphics and the idea are absolutly brill, though some of it is just not user freindly even more so when it is on the nighttime version.

Good work though. :)

thanks for the comments from you both.

To John, wich part exactly was not so user friendly? Day and night are same but with different colors... if you could point it out a bit more specifically :)

Sorry yeah the dark night time version it was just hard to see whats what.

And what I mean by a bit non user friendly is it is just not easy to know what your ment to do at first.

It is good that it is so unique but I was so lost to start off with I very nearly just pressd the little red button at the top right of my screen.
