The forum itself looks good; you've chosen a very dark design which could cause a little bit of eyestrain (especially on lower resolutions). Very high contrast. I like your straightforward rules. And your header graphic is very nice.

What really bugged me was the ad that popped up when I clicked your link. Something about joining a dating service. I almost closed the window but I happened to see the "continue to starlight lounge" link at the top of the page. If I would have just been surfing and not linking to your site from a forum, I would have closed the browser and forgotten all about it. Maybe you could find a less obtrusive ad? Is your provider doing that or is that something you chose? Firefox also put up pop-up warnings when I went to your site. The forum seems rather ad heavy, which doesn't make me want to return to it. Though I did notice when I closed out and clicked the link a second time, I didn't receive the initial ad. Is it a random ad?

It looks like a fun forum. Good work overall. It also looks like you have a small community already going.

Unfortunately the ads are out of my control... the forum is hosted for free, so the ads have to be there...
But the page with the "continue to the Starlight* Louneg" is strange... I never had that happen yet.

the ad when the site loads is a trunoff to users, plus you should weight the pros and cons in regards to your color scheme. it is not a pleasing place to view messages. the darkness with that color font makes it harder to read. if this project was created for a fun toy then it is acceptable however if you wish to obtain a larger audience then you will have to use a design that is easier on the eyes.

Unfortunately, I find your pages very difficult to read. The combination of the dark color scheme and tiny fonts is very hard on the eye. In addition, the scrollbar color combination is a little strange, rather juvenile.

I suggest having vertical stripes of the star background on each side, then a black column in the middle for the content. Also, stick with a regular scrollbar.

You also might reconfigure things so that "Forum Name" is actually next to the name, rather than on a separate line, for those quickly scanning the page for relevant information.

OK first off the Continue to starlightlounge.tk is a random ad when u have a free domain from www.dot.tk . u can make this into an adbanner at you site by switching in My DotTK --> log in --> Click on DOT TK linker Promo --> Select your domain --> then select from a list of options.

i would go with the popup window cuz AOL and mozilla block them anyway so alot off ppl wont see it.

Also i really like the look and i didnt find it eye straining at all except for inbetween parts of yur forum there is a transparent part with some letters. did u make it tranparent there or is that part of the theme you are using?

one last thing.... where did you get yur free forum?
