Please look at this site:www.teamfurr.org (http://www.teamfurr.org)
If you look at the top of the page you will see that the cat logo does not blend perfectly with the background. An edge can be seen. Yet in other places on the page, the blend is perfect. Why is this happening?
These different graphics were all created in Photoshop. They are gifs that were created using the same background color as specified for the page background. What is causing these visible lines? I don't catch what I'm doing wrong.
Any help is appreciated.

johnny,
- open your image(s) in photoshop
- zoom in as far as you can
- scroll up to the top right corner
- notice there is a one pixel border around the image
- with the dropper pick up the color from the center of the image
- use the pencil set to one pixel
- draw a line around the edges of the image (for a straight line - hold down the shift key and you can zip right along)
- save for web
Hope this helps.
One reason this may have happened is your rectangle marquee may have a feather value applied. For a crisp, clean cut make sure the ractangle marquee has a value of 0.

quick note... I'm also seeing a line above the falling cat... on closer inspection you may want to clean up the entire image... there are lighter color pixels through the entire image and around the border. FYI - I just check some of the other pics on your site and found the same thing... lighter colored pixels some pretty noticeable while others aren't. Zoom in on the pic and see for yourself.

I knew I had problems with other images, but just didn't know what the problem was. You nailed it! I was so obsessed with thinking the html was causing the problem that I didn't examine the images themselves enough.
Thank you, thank you. I would have been hidding my head against the bricks on this.

I just noticed what introduced (in this case, anyway), that different colored boarder. I had a .psd that was the correct ratio for the graphic, but it was too big. I then cropped it to the exact pixel size I wanted. I did this by entering the exact pixels in the tool bar and then selected the entire image with the crop tool and cropped it.
The border then appeared. It was easy to get rid of, I just did a fill on the background layer.
I find this odd that the crop tool instroduced this "feather" when there is no feather option for the crop tool.
