No edit message

Whenever I edit my posts, I never see a thing that says it was edited. Is this because I am a high poster or what?

I just edited this post. This is what I added:

Can everyone else see an edit message?

I think you can edit your post without getting a "has been edited" within a certain timelimit and/or "until anyone replies".

Eg try edit your above post now after I've replied.
