I am creating a web site for my friends book. He does not know html at all. I have experience with html, css, flash. What would be the best way for him to have a private area of the website where he could type information and have it posted to a portion of the site. He's not interested in html and I don't have time to keep up with all his various writings. I think this may be a job for sql or php but I have next to no experience with these. If you make a recommandation please try and include a site with tutorials on how to do this. thanx

Why not just teach him HTML? If you've written the site properly it should be a snap to make textual changes.

Concur with Charles, unless you have the time to invest and the interest in learning an entirely new coding language (PHP) for development of a web-application for simple text updates...

You can add comments to the HTML pages and just show your friend to find those changes and alter the text there. That would be mucho easier.

I would like to learn PHP, ASP and everything related to web design. Which would be best for what I am after. Something like what myspace.com uses maybe?
