Hello-
I'm doing some research for an article, and was wondering what type of web provider do you rely upon.

Local Provider
National Provider
Own Web Server
Other

Any additional feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks -

oh, well, for me, it's up to the person to choose of where to get service provider that they will get a benefit from it and will result ROI in high.
depends upon choosing the right one that will give the total satisfaction in the result of the services.

Hello-
I'm doing some research for an article, and was wondering what type of web provider do you rely upon.

In what context exactly? I mean, for a live site I'd go for the biggest, most beefy number-cruncher I could lay my hands on, with a pipe as fat as weight watchers convention and the storage capacity of George W. Bush's skull.

Whilst I'm developing a site before I put it up for public use though, I'd much rather develop on my home machine (as I do). It's far more efficient.

Some nice imagery there, Mr Herer. I use the same basic model, except the server has a rather larger storage capacity. :-) (Which is mostly unused at the moment, but such is life.) I do a lot of work with PHP and MySQL so having a local server for testing is essential.

I guess I should have been more clear.

For your own sites, what type of provider do you use?

Thanks!

You mean just personal "Hi there, this is me." kinda' sites?

Either your personal site or your business, if you are self-employed or are considered a "small" business.

Well I had a "Hi it's me" site a while back whilst I was designing the database for my current project on my own home computer. I ditched that though as soon as coding got under way on my current project. I don't intend to class myself as a small business or self employed until I finish this project so I don't peddle my wares from any sites yet.

I did go to the trouble of converting my Windows PC to a linux PC and learning how to set up all the servers one by one to be able to work on my home machine though.
