images in email

hello all,
i'm new to this forum, so please excuse me if i'm posting in the wrong area. i wish to know how to create the types of images found in email that reacts as if it were a web page. i'm sure you've all seen them before....some of them may be spam, some used as newsletters, most of them are for advertising. anyone know how this is done or where to point me towards to find such resources?

I believe you simply create an html page, post the images online and insert the html page into the body of the email. Do a google search for how to create an e-mail newsletter. Also, read the downside of doing this.
