Formatting Border of <SELECT> drop down

I am trying to blend my <SELECT> drop-down box with the background (using HTML or JavaScript), but I seem to be unable to find a way how to remove the frame around the box, so that all that is visible is the text and the down-arrow. Is this possible :confused:

Some help would be *greatly* appreciated...

PS. If there is a way to format the donw-arrow, please let me know, too...

I don't think there's any way to format it. The only thing you can change is the font size.
