This is driving me absolutely bananas. For no apparant reason, some graphics refuse to allow themselves transparency. It seems to be something to do with the actual format of the image (how it looks I mean) because even starting from scratch, even saving it as a transparent gif in a different program refuses to work. It just comes out with the flat colour that I chose to be transparent showing.

I very occasionally have this problem, only with small, simple images with few colours. I've tried with Photoshop, and ancient copy of Photosuite that I use for simple stuff, and even the native transparency selector in Frontpage, and in both PNG and GIF format.

Please help! I can't imagine why it refuses to work for me.

Hm just to make this more confusing, I just this second managed to get it to appear with a transparent background in Opera, but flat colour in Firefox and IE.

Hm, interesting. Do you mean that it really is transparent, and I just can't see that it is, or that I can't save with transparency on certain objects?

What would cause this? Sorry could you explain a bit further, I have no other computer to test on at this moment.
