i am looking for suggestons of easy-to-install, easy-to-use shopping carts. i am a novice at php and sql, I'd much rather deal with just HTML and maybe maintaining the product inventory through some online interface.
Any recomendatiuons out there?
i've been looking at stuff like...
http://www.vcart.com
http://www.ezimerchant.com
http://www.securenetshop.com/
My client will be selling clothing (multiple color and size variables). also, i'd obviously like to be able to customize the appearance as much as possible.
thanks!

Most e-companies expect a lot of rookie members, so most internet scripts are very easy to install. Don't worry about being to stupid or something, cause they have lots of people they want to offer their service. ;)
I have the PayPal shopping cart, but i've not yet tested it. A lot of people say paypal is very dangerous, but is that true?

For small sites with only a few products, PayPal may be a good solution. IMO, PayPal isn't any more dangerous than any other online payment method. In the case of online credit card fraud, the merchant almost always gets stuck with the bill.
There are several hosting companies that offer osCommerce and will set it up and customize it for you, so you do not necessarily have to know PHP. I know of several people who are non-programmers and used Chain Reaction Web hosting because they specialize in osCommerce and ZenCart hosting. I haven't used them but you might want to check them out.

Hi,
I prefer to give my clients Actininc Catlogue as it is a complete solution and is very easy to use from building the site to actually dealing with incomming orders.
have a look on www.actinic.co.uk.
