I am looking for a partner or a number of partners to help develop a website which is going to be based around science. Below is what we would be aiming to create:
A website with up to date news on the scientific world, weekly (or at least regular) interesting articles discussing both facts and viewpoints by a team of experienced writers, reference and resources, and of course, an inclusion of a variety of types of science.
<< This is a response I got when I asked someone what they think a science website should contain.
What you need to provide is input; writing articles, finding interesting news, adding links to related sites and general administration of keeping the site up to date and running smoothly.
The site will use a CMS (I haven't decided which one yet so any thoughts on this will also be appreciated!) so you don't need to know any coding or any previous knowledge of HTML, although it may help. If you can find your way around a forum posting system then you can probably use a CMS.
You should have an interest in science and sci/tech stuff as I believe this is central to the enjoyment of creating the website - you should want to spend time on it (ideally for a short time everyday.) I will expect you to be devoted so if you are not interested in science then please don't apply.
There is a potential for revenue from ads and any revenue that we receive will be split between all staff equally.
The site will be in English so you need to be reasonably fluent!
If you want to apply please PM me or post in this topic with a few short paragraphs on why you want to be involved, any previous experience you have and why I should choose you.
Thanks, TC (PM for more info if you need it, you shouldn't though!)
