Advice or recommendations about broadband service providers in the UK?

I'm looking to sign up to a broadband service provider (in the UK), and I was wondering which companies people here use.
I'd be interested in any recommendations (or any information concerning bad experiences with ISP's) that people have.

Tiscali looks like it might be a good choice for me at the moment.
(I'm currently considering their 2Mb, 15Gb per month service?)

Any thoughts or advice on Tiscali, BT, Virgin, AOL, or other providers?
