How do I add an audio sample on the auction? Tweak4 06-14-2005, 11:19 AM The simple answer is "don't". That's not to say you can't do it, there's just little point. Things like background sounds more often than not are simply annoying and rarely enhance the page they are on... undergroundstar 06-14-2005, 01:26 PM I'm a singer and I'm planning on selling my own album on ebay. And people might wanna hear how I sound so I believe an audio sample is necessary. If you can help me out, please let me know. wayne_ca 06-14-2005, 03:32 PM I think it's important to make a distinction here. I am suffering similar troubles with my site (playing sample sound files). They are not background sounds (sounds which play automatically upon loading the page and which are not controllable by the viewer and which also may even loop continually). They are sample sounds that the viewer of the page has the option to play if they want to. LiLcRaZyFuZzY 06-14-2005, 03:35 PM yeah, you should link to those sample files, just like they do on amazon (http://amazon.com) wayne_ca 06-14-2005, 03:48 PM It appears that amazon is using a specialized piece of software that determines how to parse the sample to the specific player based on the link provided (using asp or something similar). I do not have such a piece of software. All I want to do is use simple html (the object tag). If I need to use different pages for different players, that is ok, but I still need to know the specifics of how to create the object for the different players. undergroundstar 06-14-2005, 07:35 PM They are sample sounds that the viewer of the page has the option to play if they want to. I want to know how to add that to my auction page. wayne_ca 06-17-2005, 01:15 PM I want to know how to add that to my auction page. I'm working on trying to get the code working for the site I am developing. If I can make the object tag work, I'll post the working version(s) here and you can use them as a starting point for your auction page. On second thought, I'll post the results in my thread (http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69544) on this subject. webdeveloper.com
