The simple answer is "don't". That's not to say you can't do it, there's just little point. Things like background sounds more often than not are simply annoying and rarely enhance the page they are on...

I'm a singer and I'm planning on selling my own album on ebay. And people might wanna hear how I sound so I believe an audio sample is necessary. If you can help me out, please let me know.

I think it's important to make a distinction here. I am suffering similar troubles with my site (playing sample sound files). They are not background sounds (sounds which play automatically upon loading the page and which are not controllable by the viewer and which also may even loop continually). They are sample sounds that the viewer of the page has the option to play if they want to.

It appears that amazon is using a specialized piece of software that determines how to parse the sample to the specific player based on the link provided (using asp or something similar). I do not have such a piece of software. All I want to do is use simple html (the object tag). If I need to use different pages for different players, that is ok, but I still need to know the specifics of how to create the object for the different players.

I'm working on trying to get the code working for the site I am developing. If I can make the object tag work, I'll post the working version(s) here and you can use them as a starting point for your auction page.
