We recently finished the following Web Site for a Balloon Merchandiser. She seemed quite happy. The idea for this site was simplicity and accessibility as the target audience was not necessarily "tech savvy".

What do you think: http://www.addaballoon.com.au ?

The site is accessible, all right. Graphics are fine.

Problem is that someone using 800x600, like I am, doesn't see the right side completely. It is a small problem.

Ok. I will check it out on 800x600 again. Thanks.

Anyone else got some feedback?

Hi buntine -

Nice site.

I don't know why, but the banner was pretty slow loading, even for my T1 line.

One thing that looks a little off is the empty left-hand column. It almost seems like something is supposed to be there and isn't showing up. Why not fill this space with a photo of the type of balloon being referred to in the content area?

Oops - I just found where one page does have content in that area (l-h column). It still looks a little odd. Why not put that bullet list into the content area (where it would be a bit more obvious), and keep with my idea of putting an image there instead.

I don't know if you've noticed, but the blue border (outlining the content then meeting up with the vertical navigation) isn't flush. There is about 5px of white space on each side, underneath the blue navigation.

Those pink balloons are a little freaky - are those smileys without eyes on them? :)

"Click here to contact us" really should be "Contact Us." "Click here" is passe.

I like the simple design. Again, nice site.

Good Luck!
KDLA

Maybe it's just me but, balloons are fun... balloons are cute, pretty, colorful, cheery, send messages, have nifty images on them, etc... I wouldn't know any of that by reading a bunch of text. Maybe a few images of the balloons would spruce it up a bit.

It also was slow loading for me as well.

What's up with that table down there at the bottom? You use div's throughout the entire page then use a table

Pretty nice, but I'm getting an error on the right-hand side of the content (the blue outline thing) right next to the "contact us" rollover. Check the below attachment.

The idea was clutter-free and extremely easy to use. We decided adding pictures and other typical "happy" things would cause clutter and confusion. The site is not for children, but for parents and potential resellers.

haha No. I'm just not the best graphic designer.

Not sure why it's loading slow for you guys. Mayby the server was having some temporary trouble. I cleared my cache and the homepage loaded in 0.8 seconds. Almost instantly.

Thanks for the comments.

Regards.

Ah well in that case... I am diggin the simplistic design :D

Oh and I don't know what's up but it still takes awhile to load. My connection: ADSL 3.0 Mb/s downstream

Yeh. Very weird. Is it just the header that lags?

800-600 prob
when your in links in the contnet you have the link in a smaller type face and in italics, no prob with the italics but its good to keep the site font size consistant is there any reason why this changes.

in the contact section, the vertical bar on the left-hand side isn't going to the bottom, this is a little weird, it ends somewhere in the middle

That line was just bunged into each page to seperate the sub-menu area from the content. I initially had its height set at about 200 pixels on each page, but the other interested parties decided that it would be better if it spanned the entire height of the page.

Good call on the links, Dera. I might actually fix that up when I get a chance.
