I know it is not good, especially when compared to some of the other sites I have seen listed for review here. I know that I am not very good at this yet, and honestly I have very little knowledge. But I am trying to learn.

So I am looking for advice on how to make the site better.

I realize that there are several major issues:

* The table on the front page. I simply do not know another way to present that page without tables or frames. I am slowly starting to learn and experiment with CSS -- will that work? Also, the statistics inside the prep boys and prep girls are done on Excel and exported, so they also are tables. But I don't know if I have any way to get around that.

* The javascript menu on the left side on the front. Again, I'd love to come up with something better.

* The frames when getting inside the categories. What can I do here? I want the top banner and the menu to be visible from every page on the site. Can write a style sheet for that?

* And there are a few HTML validation issues.

The main issue I am dealing with is that so many of the pages need to be updated frequently (4-5 times per week). Also, I am looking for a cleaner, sharper look. And an idea for what do with each section of the site.

Again, I know my site is a coding mess, but I really do want to make it better. I would appreciate any comments and especially suggestions.

Ok, perhaps you could remove the table boarder on the front page. It just gives a website a cleaner look. Change he fonts to something like arial or georgia, Times new roman is a bad idea for websites. Add some cell padding and perhaps a new cell for the picture, align the top of the picture with the text. Perhaps when you learn some css you can get a nice interactive navigation going as opposed to static. (a:link etc...) or use some javascript to swap the images.

yes, learn css for layouts... i am really liking the header spanning across the top of the page like that... i wouldn't touch it... lose the frames yes, and only use tables for marking up info that is supposed to be in a table. its really white, which isn't bad, you could try making the navigation stand out a little more as buttons... which could also be done with css...

i think the best thing for you to do is: take a lot of time off from everything (or work around your schedule) and learn css, read tutorials, forums, look at other's code to get a good understnding how you can make layouts with css that you thought could only be done with tables (like i once did)... once your struture is set, fill in padding and whatnot, set font family, and size to make everything pretty... that way, when it is time to update you have a solid page to fill content into...

happy coding! :)

Thanks for the advice.

I have started to spend my free time learning CSS ... fun stuff. I think I'm getting somewhere with it.

On The Pitch - I'd bump up the font size.

Links frame - Use CSS and make color roll-overs for your links. They seem to be in now.

Quick Counters - You've got blue links and blue text after a heading. Doesn't mix well.

College Women - No pictures? You've got pictures of men, come on.... I mean all that simply for uniformity. Really.

With so many links, I like the idea of frames. I suppose it's not easily accessable to some people, but I still like it.
