Hi Friends,
I am thinking to pursue a career in web development. So,I started with my portfolio site 2 weeks back(www.myjavaserver.com/~jhutty),which is almost ready and i got a feel of html, css etc. Now,I have a friend of mine who needs a professional website for his transport company.I could easily build a static website with html, css, javascript, xml etc.But he needs to have the full email functionality in the website i.e login, inbox, folders etc.I think I can accomplish that too..but the main problem is the hosting site don't provide much space for your website(eg.1000MB)..so what i need to do??Do i need to just buy a domain name and set up a apache web server and mysql on my machine and maintain it myself. Please tell me what's the rite way to do this..becoz i've no clue about it.
Thanks
Mick

P.S:Basically I have programming experience with Java,Jsp etc...but i am thinking to implement this site using PhP,as I think it would be fast and enough to serve this purpose...any comments???

Many hosts also throw in an email service, either way it's a whole other server.

maybe you can upgrade your host services?

Almost all the host providers give very limited disk space..and the cost to buy more is very high.I am asking how to set up your own servers so that I just have to buy a domain name and I could use my systems for the disk space??Is there any link that shows you how to accomplish this??Or,can you tell me of any host provider that provides lots of email space say around 30GB.
Thanks
