I've recently been working on a redesign for my web site's blog, and now, I'm pretty much finished. I'd like reviews, please! :) Here it is: http://jasongranger.com/txp
(p.s. if you click on a post, it'll take you to the page where the comments are, but the "comments" heading below the post needs to be an h2 instead of an h3, so that's why it appears weirdly. Don't review on that unless you have a Textpattern blog and know how to modify it.)

look's good. not a really big fan of pink, but it actually does look good. only criticism would be maybe change the hover color of the links at the top. (the vertical ones). red doesnt quite match. not a really big deal though. but, nice nice;)

Yeah, I kinda realized that after I made those.

It's got horizontal scroll bar at 800 by 600 resolution. You set #wrapper to 800px but it needs space for the scroll bar. Other than that i like it alot, especially the pink.

I don't see a Title. There's a lot of space there, perhaps you planned on putting a picture. If you don't have one yet, you should fill it in with something.

I like it. One thing, though, I think the menu is not well separated, but that's only my opinion. The red on hover doesn't match well, but you already know that.
Other than that, really nice layout !
Is it so hard to modify the text pattern code ? Because I'm thinking of using it for my website...

Scleppel: I haven't tested it so much in 800:600 resolution (I have 1024 by some other big number).
Rabidus_lupus: There should be a JASONGRANGER'SBLOG in the flower picture header.
Ness_du_Frat: It's pretty easy to modify, yes. You can do all the web site editing online in the admin area. For me, WordPress was too hard to edit. Textpattern, on the other hand, is very easy. There are a few times where you have to go edit PHP files (like if you want to add a submit button, because the default's a preview button), but the looks, etc. are very easy. THere are textpattern tags (ie: <txp:comment_remember />) in the code, so it's easy to know where the Textpattern PHP comes in. To edit, you just get a textarea that has a page already setup that's easy to edit...
In short, I like Textpattern. :D

yeah TXP is pretty neat!
I like your website, altho those flowers are starting to annoy me, too many people use them in the banner, it's basically a lack of creativity and too much influence from the CZG

TXP doesn't seem that easy, finally, because I get an error 500 each time I try to open the setup file on my server...
:(
Anyway, I'm using xbloglite, and it's nice too ( but I don't use it as a blog, mostly as a system of comments, and I'll have 50 entries at the most... ).
But, I plan to redesign my homepage, and it could be fine to test something new...
LCF, peut-être que t'as une idée de pourquoi ça marche pas ???
Il faut que je chmod les fichiers ou quoi ???

actually i do not remember i installed it quite some time ago, i believe you must first setup a database and modify config.php in the textpattern directory(755), then run setup.php and delete this file after the installation.

LiLcRaZyFuZzY: What!? Flowers annoying you?? I didn't just get that picture out of some free stock photography web site; I took a picture of it in the rain! I'm not changing it. :P
Ness_du_Frat: Follow the instructions on the Textpattern site (http://textpattern.com/deanload/).

no i wasn't talking about your picture, it is nice by the way, but about that trend of putting flowers in every banner on every blog or site...they are like ..all the same

Ness_du_Frat: Follow the instructions on the Textpattern site (http://textpattern.com/deanload/).
Lol !!! Thanks for pointing that out... :D
Something is not working on my server, I really think it's due to the server, and not to my being to stupid to follow simple instructions...
No no, I went to the site and followed the detailed instructions, but i might have to chmod the file or do something that I didn't do... Anyway, for what I'm doing know, xbloglite works perfectly.
But still, that text pattern looks cool. I hope I'll be able to fix that problem...
BTW, LCF is right, since the css zen garden, you get flowers everywhere on the net...
But, I like yours...
( shame on me, I was thinking of putting a picture of flowers on my next website... some cute flowers in my garden right now.... lol !!! T'inquiète, LCF, je le ferai pas !!! ;) )
