Hi,
Just a question regarding compatibility of the <object> tag in IE windows and mac versions.
I've made a floating flash ad using wmode which works great in IE 6(windows) and I've taken out the <embed> tags from the code to stop it showing in non compatible browsers like Netscape, Firefox etc because I became aware of a problem where in some of those browsers it disables html links under the flash layer.
The client I was doing the ad for wrote back explaining a problem where it was still disabling html links under the flash layer on a Mac OS system, he didn't tell me what browser version it was occuring in on Mac, I'm hoping that the case is that the client had mistakingly re-added the embed tags when setting up the flash movie on the page and were viewing it in a non compatible browser... then I thought it might be also be occurring in IE 5.1 or 5.2 for Mac because of the version difference.
Before I go back and suggest some possible fixes, I was just wondering if anyone knows if the <object> tag is compatible with IE 5.1 or 5.2 for Mac OS or can it only read <embed> tags?
Thanks,
Chris
