How to I save out a gif file to look smoother on my company's website?

goto www.qep.com and the big tool images on the right are all saved out with transparency and a black matte but I still looks like crap, tried without the matte and it looks worse, also tried png but they conflict with IE?
What can I do?

Thanks
Daniel

What you may want to do is convert them to RGB, then save them as JPG. From there, shrink them to what size you want. Then save as GIF. I'm guessing that the distortion is due to downsizing the image as a GIF.

Hi-
It seems there wasn't a high enough threshold set to get all of the 'external' black areas out of the image before you saved it w/ transparency.
So fiddle with that OR get an eraser going with about 40% and small size, then place the image with a layer underneath [so you can see if you've gotten them all] and use the tool to get rid of all the extra jaggies...

Good luck,
El
