Hi -
One of those semi-business personal sites...
those of us just ground-breaking.
Trying to use Flash for subtle effects instead of whole-site; which
I find a pain [more often than not] to view:

Thanks for taking some time,

I'm having a bit of trouble loading the page. It might just be my connection at work. If not, then something might be wrong with the top section. Also, bottom right section, the title "Currently Online" has been cut in half at the top. If you can, maybe brighten the picture on your bloggish page. I'm not too sure about the picture on the home page either. It doesn't remind me of anything your site is about.
:) for alternatives to non flash. lots of people don't do that, you got the layout working but the fonts arn't they are too small and the wrong font, for content i suggest using san-sherif fonts such as verdana or arial, stats show that verdana is more popular than arial but stats can be as misleading as they are factual.

Looking good, however:
As Rabidus_lupus said, the 'Currently Online text has been cut in half
The 'view this site' links move about a bit when you mouse over them
With the flash at the top, the red text is hard to read when I mouse over the navigation buttons, perhaps it would be better to place the text on each button, rather than having blank buttons.
Also, i'd change the glass of water image, not sure exaclty why, it just dosent seem to fit.
I really like the bouncing 'bubbles' in the top left :)

Hi -
Thanks so much!
Yeah, even though I'd tested with IE, now for some reason the flash isn't loading properly - am working to find the problem. *Edit: it seems you may not have the most current player! Although mine's been in place for months, IE is choking and asking me to install it...*
[Need to add the Get Firefox link asap ;-)]
IE's dislike of negative margins was the cause of text being cut-off: 'tis fixed.
The glass was just to fit the color scheme, so you're probably right on to say that it doesn't reflect much about the content. [Will try and find an alternative.]
Dera - I'm confused as verdana IS the font!
Much appreciated,
El

I checked it in firefox at home, looks much better.
Hi -
Have done a few tweaks; not sure how much of an improvement they are, however...! [Toned-down the red bkgnd., used a different image, and changed the flash navigation.]
El
sorry my browsers fault i turned fonts off to see how one of the sites i was developing would look like my bad and it went to default of that.
I think the backround distracts the user from the content its to busy... but thats my opinion good work for the alternative to flash for the contents menu now more people can view your site.
