Hi There,

Please could you give me some feedback on www.theimages.biz (http://www.theimages.biz)

I posted the site for review a while ago but did not get much response - i've been working on it and a lot has changed since then so hopefully its ok to post it for review again.

I'm looking for comments on the sites design and layout (it should be valid xhtml/css).

Also, what do people think of the idea - at the moment there are several photographers directories - most of which want up to £30/year for listings.

The aim of this site is to build my portfolio, for promotion of other sites and possibly to make a small amount of money from listings - if it takes off. However for the time being all listings will be free, to build as big a database as possible.

The site has been online for around a month now and already there are over 120 photographers listed. If anyone on here is a photographer or provides any photography/wedding related services, please add your business to the directory.

Thanks

- Chris

i think the idea can kick off if you start a google adsense or somthing like that - an online ad campain of some sort - and give a trail of your services, with out heaps of visitors to your site why should they spend an extra 30 euro to list their site.

any way to your site why r you using an iframe for google ads? do you need that, get rid of it if you could i havn't valiudated your code but it will not be xhtml valid.

The google ads are not in an iframe, they are a in an included javascript (as far as i know this is the only way to include google ads)

The page does validate as XHTML 1.1

Check validation results at w3c.org (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.theimages.biz)

Listings in theimages.biz directory are free - In my original post I was just saying other similar directories charge £30 per year for listings, so if theimages.biz takes off I may be able to charge in the future :)

I'm considering a google adwords campaign, however i've used them in the past for other sites and not found them to work too well (there are a LOT of photography sites using adwords!)

Thanks for the comments.

Way too many links on one page in addition to large-amount-of-text links. When you use a whole sentence as a link it just looks bad. For your search area, maybe you should use something else to list all those links.
