Dear all,

I recently upgraded my java workstation from BlueJ to Eclipse. The main thing I wanted Eclipse for was it's visual layout facility for java. I have downloaded the relevant GEF and EMF plugins and installed them onto Eclipse. I have also successfully installed the Visual Editor plugin, but it will not work - the palette has no icons on it, the visual editor will not parse java files into visual content and the visual editor will not display visual content for even files that it itself creates. I popped by the official Eclipse help sites and some people had similar problems to mine, but answers were not displayed on any of the threads. People on this forum are usually very helpful. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using Visual Edit (VE) version 1.0.1 then try uninstalling that and installing 1.0.2.

That has solved the problem for others.

Have a good one :)

I am using VE-runtime-1.0.2.2, emf-sdo-runtime-I200506230200, and
GEF-runtime-3.0. The only thing I can think of that might be causing trouble is that I did not install the WEP components of the visual editor as eclipse said that the licence on those parts of the plugin was invalid (even though I had downloaded them as the most recent options on that very same day). Thanks for your help - I went to the Sun website and was very unfond of the "Duke Dollars" help scheme that they had there. You guys do a wonderful job without reward incentives. Thanks.

Do you think that it would be worthwhile trying the Sun website again?
