I JUST built my computer about 2 weeks ago, and for some reason, its randomly closing my games, or sometimes even shutting off. Randomly. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. I was thinking maybe its the power supply. Here are my specs:

Gigabyte SLI supported motherboard, PCI-express
ATI RADEON X800XL
OCZ technology 1 gig of RAM (system memory) Gold series.
AMD ATHLON 64 3500+
250 gig HD
DVD Burner and normal DVD ROM.

The reason I was thinking it would be the power supply (my friend does too) is because I'm using the one that came with the case, which is only a 420 Voltage or whatever.

Please, any help would be great.

Hi Brianx051804,
420v PSU is more than enough for your computer..but.. that doesn't mean its not failing.
Shutdowns/crashes..etc can be almost anything. Just speculating is a waste of time.
Do some basic troubleshooting & get back to us with the results/info so we can help you out.
You can find troubleshooting flowcharts at my website to help you out.

Is your PC overheating???
Check your Fan and run dianotic programs
Many comptuers have a weak fan so the prosser when you are playing games will over heat and then shut down
