I have a HP Laptop P4 2.66GHZ that makes lot of sound?? is it the fan?

Hi everyone,

I have my uncle's HP laptop that makes lot of sound. It wasn't like this before. It was okay, but in the last couple days it is making very noisy sounds from its fan I guess. Its fan doesn't stop running, and it is load. Is there a way to fix this problem??? it is annoying.

Hi Akkadian,
When laptop fans start to get very noisy.. they're usually on the way out/failing. About the only other part that makes noise in a laptop is the hard drive. Are you sure its the fan ?
L APTOP Fans can USUALLY be replaced ..but you'll have to get a repair shop to do it.

The noise is coming from the fan for sure. It is not the sound of the hard drive. I will ask about replacing it, and I will let you know. thanks again.
