I can program to this music because it's all I listen to. Maybe I can check out some new tunes from this thread.

I tried to sample some of Havik's music and hit some walls (i'll Google some more later, I guess).

So I went back and updated my original post with links to samples.

Can everyone who responds to this thread do the same thing? (i'm always looking for new/different music).

Thanks
;) k

(i'll add more to my list as this thread develops. AND... please list music to program by. Maybe some of you can program to Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, LedZep, and Soundgarden, etc... but let's be real ;) )

I'm curious (maybe this question is better suited for a poll), how you base whether or not you like a song: whether it is appealing to the ear (the pure acoustics of it) or the lyrics (if the words don't have a deep and profound meaning it's no good, despite the sound).

If a song has nice lyrics, but the tune is crap, I'm not going to listen to it. If, on the otherhand the tune is nice but the lyrics suck, I probably will not listen to that either. All the best songs are great in both regards...

Chopper pretty much just likes the metal (although multiple variations of it).. so I think it would be safe to say that Chopper and I have "differing" musical tastes (nothin wrong with that though). The only band from his list that I am familiar with (a little) is System of a Down... and that's only because I was at a party and heard something that sounded like Primus on steriods or something. It turned-out to be System of a Down (don't know which CD). I myself would never to able to code to that (Primus either, for that matter).

Plus... Chopper... your website crashes my Netscape 7 every time. Is there something wrong with that applet or something? (happens every time. Grrrrr. wink)

From Havik's list, I recognized Headstrong (Trapt) once I actually heard it (duh!)... it's not something that I could program to... but I think that I've been screaming down the highway with the top down to that song blasting at one time or another (the Jeep's top... not mine! yikes! lol). Same can probably be said for Tweeter & The Monkey Man (Headstones)... and definitely F*CK YOU (I didn't know that was the Headstones!). Cool!

Kazzer sounds good too. I can't find it anywhere here... but I'll be in the city tomorrow, so I'll look for it then.

I even listened to Seether... even though I think that they are trying to be Creed (ugh. so over-rated) meets Nirvana (my all-time favorite band ever ever ever ever ever ever!!!).

Thanks for sharing your list Havik! My speakers took a real pounding from it (in a good way. wink)
I'll update my own list again once I see some interest in this thread  .

I hope that some other people will contribute something (preferably music to program to, but all music is welcome to me).

;) k

I like to think I enjoy a wide range of music. I also have some KMFDM and System of a Down. Some Metallica, Taproot, and Disturbed and all that good stuff. I also like musical score's from movies. Apollo 13, Titanic, and Braveheart are a few favorites. Oh, and the themes from Dragonheart and October Sky too (they just popped in my mind). Can't say I know much of what was on Khaki's list :/

I don't think I actually have favorite group. Everytime I find a new good song I just listen to that alot until a new good song takes its place. Listening to "Barenaked Ladies - Baby Seat" right now. "Coldplay - Clocks" and "Evanescence - Bring Me To Life" were the much listened to songs just before it.

I've been collecting alot of music lately. Feel free to have a look see (ftp://albums@137.21.192.76). Red Hot Chili Peppers will be showing up in there soon. **I can't guarentee the address will always work, or that you'll get good rates if you try to download anything :/

okay..

just for sh*ts and giggles...
(and to give some life to this thread... hey mookie, did you ever expect such a non-response to this? I certainly didn't!)

here's my 3 favorite songs ...

Voodo Chile (all versions) - Jimi
Breed - Nirvana
Hey Joe - Jimi

That hasn't really changed in years. After the top 3... it gets a bit hairy (lol).

h e l l o everyone!
no one here is into music?
we're geeks... not nerds!
let's go!!!

khaki "Breed - Nirvana"

ahh, now there's one I know is good :)
I also liked Come As You Are, Polly, and Smells Like Teen Spirit (in addition to Breed). I'm sure they have more stuff that I would like but I've only actually listened to the Nevermind album. Although I do have Foo Fighters, who have serveral of the artists of Nirvana and the same musical styles.

Oh, And Khaki.

I loaded my netscape 7, viewed my sites and had no problems.

When vieing my Homepage (http://users.bigpond.net.au/chopperweed/) I was requested to download jre140_01.xpi from the netscape ftp for my java applet heading. I noticed once installed and loaded, the java applet heading lagged a bit in ns7 compared to ie6 which runs smooth for me.

When vieing my Local Tipping Competition webpage (http://users.bigpond.net.au/chopperweed/footytips/)
The only thing that was wrong there was the result page which I have done the excel save as html. But you know about that already.

I'm Curious to know, what specs is your PC. Could it be possible that your pc was unable to cope runing netscape and the java applet.
