Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Editing my thread Mausau2000 07-05-2005, 08:44 PM How do i edit my thread??? rhsunderground 07-05-2005, 09:14 PM there is an edit button in the bottom right corner of your post. it looks like this: http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image=edit1nc.gif Mausau2000 07-05-2005, 09:17 PM i mean deleteing bad posts my friend can delete other posts on his accont in his own threads that he made at the bottom it says adminitrator tools where do u get that ??? rhsunderground 07-05-2005, 09:31 PM is that on his account here or at a different forum that also uses vBulletin? Mausau2000 07-06-2005, 07:02 PM Here at webdevloper rhsunderground 07-06-2005, 08:41 PM hmmm.... well that shouldn't be. even in the forums that i moderate, there is no admin menu at the bottom of the page; it is all at the top. when i try to delete a thread with my non-moderator account i am not allowed to. who is your friend that has such magical powers? JPnyc 07-06-2005, 08:56 PM Users can't delete their own posts or threads here. Mausau2000 07-06-2005, 11:24 PM I think his user name is barto or something i was at his house when i saw it it was called adminitrater tools at the bottm and had stuff like split thread and delete posts Update his user name is barton and he uses some program to direct trffic though his internet @nnomouse or some thing like that. rhsunderground 07-06-2005, 11:27 PM Users can't delete their own posts or threads here.which is why i want to know who the friend is! Mausau2000 07-06-2005, 11:31 PM which is why i want to know who the friend is! I told u rhsunderground 07-06-2005, 11:39 PM sorry, i didn't see that post :p did you actually see him delete a thread or was there just the menu there? because i've noticed a bug in the software that occasionally opens up the admin menu under 'thread tools' when it wasn't supposed to. Mausau2000 07-07-2005, 03:04 AM Ill try to get a screenshot JPnyc 07-07-2005, 10:39 AM I'm sure the friend is mistaken. A mod probably deleted the post around the time that they were attempting to. I checked the account and all permissions are default for the registered user group. Mausau2000 07-07-2005, 04:26 PM Dude i need to talk to u JPnyc 07-07-2005, 04:49 PM I checked permissions for his account, they're standard. I checked also with a standard user account. The tools show up but they don't work. rhsunderground 07-07-2005, 05:17 PM i saw the screenshot you sent. that is very strange. i don't know what to say, except "i don't know." JPnyc 07-07-2005, 05:45 PM His screenie won't load for me. What do you see? rhsunderground 07-07-2005, 06:20 PM here it be, gif-ed. JPnyc 07-07-2005, 06:52 PM Something not quite correct. 1st off, those are the admin tools from the old version of vb, not this version. rhsunderground 07-07-2005, 08:05 PM that's what i thought as well. but it's obviously the new version, with its view modes and the ad junk at the bottom of the page... MstrBob 07-07-2005, 08:18 PM Well, I can confirm this. Steps to Replicate: Go to http://anonymouse.ws/ Through there anonymous www service, go to a thread you started You get admin options Don't know if they work, I haven't tried. I don't think it would, but I don't really know. If you don't go to the anonymouse.ws service, you get no such options. Edit Testing it, it appears I don't have permission. I'm shown options, but can't do anything. JPnyc 07-07-2005, 08:30 PM Yeah I didn't think it would work. Those are not the admin options in this version, nor is that the exact configuration of the other visible page elements in this version. JPnyc 07-07-2005, 08:32 PM Yeah there's no worries, I just tried. It won't even let me into the private areas of the forum because it can't identify me. rhsunderground 07-07-2005, 11:15 PM we must revolt against anonymouse.ws! JPnyc 07-07-2005, 11:27 PM Bob, did you test on a thread you authored? rhsunderground 07-07-2005, 11:32 PM i did, and it did indeed show up, but i was not able to accomplish anything. edit: 2000! JPnyc 07-08-2005, 12:10 AM Yeah I figured. I tried but I hadn't started any threads outside the mod forum, and it wouldn't let me in there at all MstrBob 07-08-2005, 07:50 PM Bob, did you test on a thread you authored? Yes. You only get the options on threads you offer. But you can't actually do anything - unauthorized. Mausau2000 07-08-2005, 11:15 PM Thats ok then webdeveloper.com
