OK, I did a search to find out if this topic had been answered already but I didn't find much in the way of what I was looking for.

What I am looking for is the proper PHP function to encrypt a pictures' file name so it can't be copied from the source code and entered in the address bar to pull up the picture by itself. I know about encryption techniques such as MD5(), but I am not sure of it's implementation in this case.

What security options are available out there?

Another question. Is the only way to keep someone from right clicking on a picture to use JavaScript?

I guess I am looking for the latest technology to enforce that pictures cannot be stolen form a site. Do I do this server side or what?

Links to this topic would be great if you don't have the time to respond.

Thanks!

i think the best measure of protecting images on the web, would be the use of watermarks, the people who mainly steal images are not skilled enough to remove a watermark
