Hey,
Sorry I'm new to this, and currently only use HTML.

I've heard all this 'hype' about PHP, and would love to use it with something like post-nuke or phpnuke or something.

My domain is hosted with http://uk2.net, how can I see if they support PHP?
I've tried uploading 'anything' in a filename.php to my domain and i can view it ok, I'm just not sure whether other bits will work or not?

Any info you can give me will be gratefully acecpted. Thanks!!!

LOL, I am sure most hosts just hate it when people email in, do you support this or that. Here is how you test it, Make a hello world application upload it and see if it works, if you get some funkey i dono 403 error then It doesnt work. Simple. PHP is a server side language (cgi,php,asp,aps.net,jp) this means the the server produces the html code depending on what the user is doing. But to do this the server has to kinda support php so you will know right away if it work or doesnt. I would recommend getting a strong grasp of html and some java script before doing php or any other server side for that matter. Unless you are just using prefab stuff

i'm with uk2 too, and no they dont support php.

the way to tell is that if they do, they'll tell you about it - it's quite a big thing for hosters to support, so if they do support it they waste no time in letting you know.

BUt i'm afraid that uk2 dont.

Hi,

If you are thinking of using phpnuke or postnuke, you will also need a MySQL database aswell. Some providers charge extra for databases.
