I started this site a while ago while on work experience and have recently completed more study and training. Im thinking about reworking the site with a similiar design, initially to get rid of the damn tables and to get it validate in xhtml (so please no tables or validating comments!).

The self help page isnt completed and the graphics on the main page are just stand in's so i could get it online to include in an entrance education portfolio, waiting for real images from the client...

What im looking for is some ideas of what could maybe enhance the design and proffesionalize it a little more?

im going to add a page about some of the higher end custom pcs they build, and im not generally happy with how the self help page is going its spose to be able to solve minor client problems that waste thier time, but i never had any specifics for it, i just converted the really old one to something newer.

Thanks in advance.

Overall it is easy to use and look effective on my machine. One thing I noticed (and haven't in the past) is that your using both Arial and Times New Roman fonts on the same page.

I would recommend you stick with just one font for content.

Hi -
Definitely get a !DOCTYPE in there...
other than that, I just had some issues with Not Enough Contrast.
[Like the slogan in the header on mustard or maroon.]

Consider adding a white or pale silver bkgnd. to the outlined text areas to offset them from all of that grey. Not sure if the images used on subsequent pages really add that much - a cool-looking repeated graphical element might be better.

Overall - not bad! Agree that choosing one font would be best...

Unless there is a good reason for the design to be that small, I would expand it a bit to give it more room. I would also look at doing something beyond a plain white background because it just seems empty the way you have it now. Maybe with a expanded layout it might help though.

I had designed it to fit 800 pixels across for the client base are often not advanced users but it is a little small even for that i hadnt realized.. i think i might put a different background on those boxes of text and use the rest of the space on the low rez

thanks people.

your header titles are to faint either lighten up the backround and darken the text (maybe a notch up) or vice-a-versa
