I have a website and I would like for others to be able to put up banners. How do I know what to charge & what are the recomrnded sizes?

Charge whatever you want -- its your Web Site. If no interest is generated, lower your prices or rework your ideas. I would recommend you don't use Banners at all. They are terrible thing. The future of advertising on the
WWW lies in text-based advertisments.

depends upon your traffic , you must charge depending on it.

WD charges $1000 for advertsing ,

so it does not mean u can charge that money ( i hope you know )

charge according to traffic.

Why dont you try something with google adwords? From that, you can get a general idea of how many clickthroughs/impressions to can give to customers and go from there.
