I have a hi res logo in jpeg that I want to insert on a page. The file is 400K and is 2100 x 1200 px. I would like to shrink it both in dimension and file size but when I do, it doesn't look good. Is there some magical way I can shrink the image without losing image clarity?

Most image editors should do a decent job resizing.
What are you using to resize it and what resolution are you aiming for?

I've been using MS Photo Editor. I've tried with Micrografx Photo Magic as well with similar results. I'm getting what almost looks like pixelation. Whould Photoshop or Fireworks do a better job?

does your image contain many colours?
i.e. a gradient? if not you would be better off saving as a gif.
if you save it as a jpg make sure you have no smoothing( will increase file size but will look better )
never used ms photo editor always use fireworks or ps
