I picked up a windows 95 from my friend really cheap, and its only internet was AOL. It didn't come with a browser and isn't compatible with Microsoft Internet explorer 6. Is there a place I can download an older version or just try netscape?

Hi superrad7...

you say you got a Win95 OS and it has NO Internet Explorer?

Highly unlikely (actually... even less likely than that... although i'm giving myself some wiggle-room. lol).

it sounds like you didn't pick up Win95 from a friend... you got something else entirely.

Microsoft has spent years in the courts over the bundling of IE in their operating system. the chances of you having one that does NOT contain IE is .... well... i seriously doubt it.
Maybe your friend "sold you" a "free" AOL disc  .
If you browsed the disc and found no browser, i don't know what else to say.... except get your money back and/or find a new friend!.

Bottom-line... you can download IE and Netscape from the internet... but you need internet access in order to do it (unless you oder the discs or have a real friend that has the browsers bundled in something that you can borrow).
Otherwise, I guess you will have to become a lucky AOL member (with 100 million free hours in the first month!) until you can get "grown-up" internet access.

good luck
;) k
