Hi,

We have been on Google for a year now;

http://www.gite-holidays-in-france.com

Yet despite trying everything I know in terms of keywords, keyword 'phrases', cutting the use of 'Tables', making sure my 'alt' attributes are correct and everything else I can think of trying, our SEO is still extremely poor. The only way that we seem to show up is if you actually type in a search for our web site title !

This is so frustrating, what am I doing wrong ?

Any advice ?

Thanks.

Ray

Sounds like you are trying too hard to get a good placement in the search engine instead of spending the time writing good page content. The search engines change their criteria every so often to make sure that the pages with the best content will always be close to the top and those that were tailored to meet their prior criteria drop toward the bottom if they don't have good content.

First off... Make your pages validate (http://slettes.dk/redirect_to/?url_name=http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gite-holidays-in-france.com%2FYour%2520Holiday.html).

Secondly, skip tables and use CSS for styling. Tables are for tabular content, not presentation of text.
