Getting web pages to display in lower resolutions and smaller monitor sizes.

Hello everyone,

I am designing web pages on a new machine with a new larger monitor. But on older machines with small screen sizes my format does not come out right. Can anyone give me some input in the direction to correct the problem. I have feeling its in the width field within the <table> and <td> tags. Any help would be helpful. Thanks.

Do you have an example of a site in which this is pertinent to? It would be beneficial to provide a link so I can look at the code. Thank you.
