www. doesn't work with website

Hi,

Awhile ago my host was doing some upgrading on the site and there was alot of downtime for a few days. Ever since my website doesn't work if you type in www. infront of the domain. It works without it though. Apparently it 'Times Out' . I've contacted the administrator and he said it works for him and he can't see the problem. I know for a fact it doesn't work though as I've tested it out on different computers in different locations.

What server software is on your Server/Host?

I'm not sure but I think it's CentOS

Ok well you gotta find out for sure what it's running os and website server software.

first for me here, i know of sites not coming up when it wasnt used but not when it was, strange

This is either a DNS issue or virtual host problem. Check here (myhomewebserver.co.uk/dns_test.php) to see if your www. has got a proper DNS entry and check that the entry is the same as not using www. If this appears ok it must be a virtual host problem.
