i haven't used 1.06, but i know that in opera there is an option that will allow you to turn off animated gif's. you might poke around and see if firefox has that as well.

When u reinstall spybot delete any registy keys that spybot my keep ur setting in

Also check ur fire wall zone alam ahas inmages disabled by defult
