Dear members:

I just would like to know should i put a failed/failing hard drive (2.5 30gb ibm internal hd) in external enclosure as slave so i can get the data off (its been a month since it has failed) by using a laptop

Hi tomcruise3230,
You can do it...but it won't improve your chances of getting the data off of it. Your chances will be the same as if you attached it internally in your computer , also as slave.
You chances of getting the data off it is determined by how badly it's damaged..not whether it's inside or outside the computer case.
Hope this helps
Did it answer your question?

Hi again,
re: how do u think i should get the data off (which is the quickest): burn to cd-r or cd-rw or do it with externa hd?
HD is MOST always faster.

HD is always faster than CD-ROM
