Hey, I have a general question: How do all of you out there get that cool icon on the left side of the screen in the posts? And how does Dave Clark always get that message at the bottom of all his posts?

MarkE 04-07-2003, 09:10 PM Hey, I have a general question: How do all of you out there get that cool icon on the left side of the screen in the posts? And how does Dave Clark always get that message at the bottom of all his posts? Chopper WeeD 04-07-2003, 10:58 PM The ICON is called an AVATAR which is commonly found on various forums. To give or change your AVATAR click on the "user cp" button above. Then click on the "Edit Options" Button. At the bottom of the newly loaded page you will see AVATAR and a "Change Avatar" button, click it. You may then upload an image from you pc or have an image linked to you profile with a URL. Note: The image has a maximum pixel size of 50x50 Da Warriah 04-08-2003, 03:34 PM and the message at the bottom of a post is called your "signature"...you have one right now that says "Mark E." - go into your User CP, then click on "Edit Profile"...about halfway down theres a box that is for your "signature"...put whatever you want in there... havik 04-09-2003, 03:10 PM Another thing is the text directly under your username. You can alter this by doing the following: Click on 'user cp', click on 'Edit profile', and about halfway down there's a 'custom user text' section. You may enter anything in here, but it has a character limit. Havik Nightowl 04-12-2003, 11:09 PM Followed the instructions to "Change Avatar" and clicked. There aren't any there. Did I do something wrong? Chopper WeeD 04-13-2003, 12:45 AM You have to create your own Avatar, Use windows paint or something and save your image as a jpeg or gif. Make sure your image size is no bigger than 50x50 pixels. Once you have created your image, you may then upload it as followed in the instructions above. webdeveloper.com
