Hi all,
I just thought I'd mention, to those of you who know Wrox Press, that they are officially going into liquidation on the 14th of March. They have already given notice to all their staff. I don't know if their website is going to stick around so if you need to download any of the code for any books of theirs you may have, or get the lastest errata, you may want to do it soon, just in case.

Hey Mike...
Thanks for the info!!!
(that really sucks though :( )
I guess that I'll be doing a lot of downloading of code today  .
Thanks again for sharing that... there's plenty of people that I know who will also be grateful to you for taking the time to bring that to light.
;) k

Damn, that is bad news and a surprise. I would of thought they'd have no trouble making a profit. I feel like I've lost a friend or a limb or something. I don't think any other publisher comes close to them, looks like some dark learning days ahead.

Hey!!!
According to the Iraqi Information Minister... MikeOS is "lying like a pig wandering the desert"!
Just kidding  (although I wish that he was)
Actually, I'm with you Crazy.
It's just.... well... crazy ;)
I cut my teeth on Beginning Active Server Pages 2.0...
and followed that up with ASP Database.
Plus... I have the crisp, like-new Beginning XML (hmm... wasn't quite ready for that one yet. Anyone wanna buy it?)...
and the sometimes used (mostly for color shades, hues, indexes) IE5 Dynamic HTML.
All I can say is... :(
I love those stupid books.... they made me feel.. well.... less stupid!
But... the good news is... they aren't going to come and take away my existing books... so i got that going for me ;)
Still though.... a reliable and quality series of books will no longer beckon me to overspend at Barnes & Noble.
(is it possible to drink $40 of cappuccino in one afternoon? If not... B&N may not make-up for the lost revenue from me!)
Oh well.
Thanx Wrox

Yeah it is a little sad. My shelfs are pratically a shrine to Wrox Press books, around 85% of my 50 odd computing books are Wrox books, and I've just brought two more today, before they go out of stock - never to be restocked.:( But like Khaki it will save me loads of money too.
Oh and Khaki, out of all the Wrox Press books I have Beginning XML was the only one that really sucked lol. Although Beginning SQL came close.
Well the King is dead, long live the ermmmmm....
