Hello.
I'm just after a simple bit of information please, well more of a suggestion.
We are starting a small online business that's offering web design, domain sales and registration, custom code (PHP, C, C++) and logo design - perhaps in the future web hosting too.
What would you suggest follows our companyname? We thought [companyname] Technologies - but wondered if this was appropriate. Would you suggest Technologies, Communications...?
Many thanks.

Whatever feels comfortable, I say. Technologies, Development, Systems, Design, etc.
Technologies, Development or none would be my optimal choices.
Regards.

IMO, if the name itself describes your business, you wouldn't need 'Technologies' or other similar suffixes.
However, if you really want one, then I'd suggest thinking about how unique your name will be. A quick search through Google, or just thinking of the names you already know, will reveal the amount of companies that have 'Technologies' (or similar) in their name.
To make it easy for your clients to find you or remember your company name, I'd suggest going for something that will stand out and be immediately recognisable.
Your company name will be a significant part of your brand, as well as 90+ % of your marketing / advertising.
Also, I'd be aware of choosing some English words -- they may mean something insulting in another language. (This goes for all languages.) And while you mayn't be doing international business initially, your clients may have global connections, or they may be multinationals. This is just something of which to be aware.
Other than that, have fun choosing your company name. (^_^)
Take care,
Snitch.

Many thanks for the information; much appreciated.
Dependent on a few things I think we'll be using 'Technologies'.
A question if you know ... in the UK is it *required* legally to actually register the 'company' or organisation with Companies House and obtain a company reg.no, or is it possible to trade without actually registering the company?
Thanks.
