Hi
I am trying to set up a website that consists of a navigation menu bar on the left and content in a right column. All of this is fitted within a centred container block. A further condition is that all content must scale with text-size changes, hence most sizes being a set 'em' value, which caused the need for absolute positioning. In Firefox I have this working exactly as I hoped with the extra bonus of a fixed left margin so that only the content scrolls. What I can't solve is why the background colour of my IE navigation bar (div#menu) only continues to the bottom of the list whereas the Firefox version covers the whole screen. Basically I want to work the IE version to look like the Firefox one (excluding the fixed scroll thing which isn't necessary though would be nice).
I would like to avoid using scripts if possible.
Can anyone help?
The site is www.barkingcollege.ac.uk/cw/new_site_test/home.html
Thanks
