Video Card --- ATI 8500DV

Hi!
Recently I purchased a video card and replaced an old one that came with my 700X Gateway! The cards works great it records my analog video, tv programs and other stuff. The thing I did not like is that in order to get my recording in high resolution videos (DVD), I need to have a dvd burner which costs another$200.
Through the Imish program (P2P), I downloaded many movies. These movies, in average last 90 minutes such as Supper Trooper. I have been burning these movies on CDs (max 700 MB) whith a dvd like resolution.
When I boutght my new card, I was thinking that I would be able to make such movies. I tried so many things and I could not make a 90 minutes movie in dvd quaility within cd capacity. I found out that one minutes dvd type recording consumes 60 MB....
I am so disappointed ... If the only way out is to buy dvd burner, I won't make it and instead, I will return this to Amazon.
Pleas help me out..

Are you compressing them with a codec? If not, look into Div-X (http://www.divx.com)

I downloaded the progam and I could not find the DivX Encoder within the bundle... I downloaded it many time but no avail. Can you tell me what problem is

Hmm... I've not tried to encode anything with Div-X for a while. I used to use it for 3D animations, and the codec just showed up as an encoding option in the program when I loaded it in. Have you reset your computer since you installed Div-X?

Oh man! Many times. Reinstalled it and tried and nothing works. Even I deleted input from the registery and reinstall it again but none works..
I will give it some more tries

Those pirated movies you downloaded may sometimes look like DVD quality but are never at DVD quality, and i am sure they use divx Pro which costs money, unless you download that also through Imesh or Direct Connect (http://www.neo-modus.com).

P.S. Is there an Imesh Lite version. I hate GAIN spyware :mad:
