Hi. Just posted this to the HTML list, but wondering if there are any clever DHTML tricks to solve it....

I have mutliple frames and framesets on my page, and am having trouble with the sizing of the browser.

What I am after is to have everything a fixed size, and if the browser is smaller than that, a *single* scrollbar appears over the top of all of them.

I thought I could just put the original frameset page within anther frame, set the outer frame's scrolling to auto, and problem solved. Unfortunately this doesn't work!!! It never seems to recognize when it needs to scroll.

Would really appreciate some help if anyone has any ideas!

Cheers,

David

Hi Dave,

Sorry for cross-posting. Didn't read the rules close enough.

Have posted a more detailed explanation on html forum: http://forums.webdeveloper.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=38864#post38864

Thanks for the code snippet, but don't think it will acheive what I'm after - just want a single scrollbar over all the frames.

Am I correct?

Thanks for your help though...please let me know if you have any other ideas, apart from putting everything in an iframe (which adds the frustrating "ghost" scrollbar until it's used!).

Cheers,

David
