Be kind :)....and constructive for that matter, I don't design sites that often, heh.

http://www.twelveoclock.net It's a general movie/TV/Radio news site.

I like and don't like this design. But there are going to be a few t hings I'm going to need to add and don't know how to do..

1)I need to fit alot of things in a small space, so I'd like the page to automatically fit the size of the browser you are currently using. This way I don't get complaints that people have to scroll over to see stuff because it's too big or two small for their screen..

2)I'm going to need to make previews of certain pages , hence the celebrity blog and tech review preview links on the right. I have no idea in heck how to set this up, but I'm hoping it can be done :).

3) I'm going to need a menu to the left that has a drop down section to it. The Sites menu will pop up to the right, and have all the different sites that we have hosted under our banner displayed.

If anyone can help point me to the proper info needed, most appreciated :)

Thanks!
Neil

Your logo is 1264px wide and the image above it is 1348px wide. Those hardly help you fit things into a "small space." I would build the site around being 800px wide, and thus make your images 750px wide at the most.

Your blue and red menu colors should be of a different shade because those shades aren't really helping.

Your fonts could use some work too.

You do realize Hilight isn't the correct spelling of Highlight?

I wouldn't worry about any of the preview sections because you have much more fundamental issues going on like some really sloppy code.

I would suggest deciding on a consistent theme before starting the code.

I would have either a grey or white background but not both, same with the links blue or red (and a more neutral color) but not both.

As previosuly mentioned designing for 800px across is usually the go, scrolling down doesnt matter that much as long as i isnt massive. if your really set on it you could bring it down to 1000px to fit 1024 but your still going to get some users side scrolling which is generally considered pretty bad.

Good Luck!

Your site is nice, but when it opens, there is so much of one text and I just see a whole pile of text that i dont feel like reading, maybe you can find a way of organizing it or color coding that it makes it easier on the eyes. Maybe its just me, but good site otherwise ;) keep up the good work

Whoa.
There's a lot going on...

I don't see an actual banner - is the VCR on the left supposed to be it? You might consider using an actual text-based banner that is more prominent than your navigation menu, so the title will be clear to the new visitor.

You also might consider some screen-friendly fonts, such as (not bolded) Verdana, Arial or any other sans-serif font for your content text. "Times New Roman" is actually better for print materials.

Lastly, I'd just stick to two or three colors. The multi-color effect you've got doesn't do much for your design. It actually breaks it up, rather than unifying it.

Something that might help during your redesign is to validate your code: http://validator.w3.org/. Looks like there's some interesting things going on in there.

Good Luck -
