I would say add a few case fans to the mix and maybe a pannel to control them, one that will have a temperature display w/ and a few of its own thermosters perferably. Why only one hard drive? I gave my friend dual 120s on sata. You might even mix and match, get a very very fast small sata drive, like a 40 with some very high rpms like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822116133 and you would put windows and common software on that then get a huge 200gig or so media and game drive with a standard rpm.

Also, why not go for ram witha cas of 2 if you are building a high performance box?

I would say add a few case fans to the mixI am going to start a crusade about this.
If you have ONE case fan and ONE fan for the cpu, and possibly the gpu that usually comes with one, that is enough. You don't need more than that. All of this talk about 27 case fans and water cooling is just plain ridiculous.
If you are overclocking then we'll talk about cooling alternatives.

You have a hsf on the proc and a hsf on the gpu and maybe hsf or just a sink on the northbridge, but that does not circulate any outside air into the case and that same hot air flows throughout the case. I am not saying he needs 27 (but as of right now he has none), but I would say a top blowhole fan if the case has a spot for one and another output fan in the back at the very least for any kind of a performance machine that will undoubtedly be over clocked.

I agree you need at least one intake and one exhaust fan. Even for a general performance machine. You really need to have the fresh air coming in and the hot going out. It will lower you temps all around and prolong the life of you machine. ;)

Also I would recommend you get a separate PSU. The PSU's that come in cases are usually total junk. Especially a $36 case. You need a good PSU to power all those nice components. Just because it is 500W doesn't mean it is a good PSU. ;) Look to spend $70 or more on a good quality PSU. Keep the one in the case for a backup.

Dont trip -.- of cource im geting case fans... just not a newegg becuase i can get them for $2.50 from a guy i know. I am also getting a 500W PSU from the same guy. We are going to do a bit of OCing... Also he says he doesnt need much H/d Space so i stuck with one. and about the ram budget ^_^ 2.5 close enough to 2 i guess

[COLOR=deeppink]that is something i meant to say too, get a nice psu, not a bobo one because getting a bad power supply really can limit the lifetime of your parts./COLOR]

I like to build my own systems have a thing about fans, they are noisy noisy noisy, most of them anyway. Water cooling...one of these days...one of these days...maybe when I build that 64 bit monster. Its not so fringe anymore, its totally silent, and cools better than any fan.

Some cool things to consider: Graphics cards--some have tiny fans that are really loud. Get rid of them. Zalman makes a heat pipe/passive heat sink that is great at keeping the gpu cool with no noise.

Pabst fans. These are the quietest fans around. Check out the endpcnoise site (http://www.endpcnoise.com) site for ultra quiet cooling fans, for the case and cpu.

Case fans are important. I don't think intake fans are really needed if you have good airflow through the case. An exhaust fan at 80mm or 120mm will do just fine along with the cpu fan and the psu fan.

Right now I've got an AMD Athlon 3000+ 400mhz fsb, 1 gb RAM, on an Asus motherboard. 3 fans: cpu, psu, 120mm exhaust. Temps at around 105-109 deg F under load (Half Life 2), less (99-102, 103) at normal use or idle.

Ok I have some load fans in my pcs and I have a simple question. What is a good temperature for the CPU and the MB the documentation and other people just hint to keep it as low as possible. Does anyone have any numbers?

if your looking for superior cooling build your computer into a mini fridge.
