Are PNGs cross platform?

I've started using PNGs in a development site I'm working on. I only have I.E. on my computer and the PNGs look great (I needed the transparency). Do the other browsers support PNGs with transparency?:cool:

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that Netscape 6+ supports PNG files. ;)
