I am not a software developer - just someone needing help.

In Internet Explorer, when I am at a site, I cannot open any text link or enlarge any picture that says "Javascript" in its description when you put the cursor on it. Also on MSNBC (and elsewhere) I can not change settings for my personal page - the setting links also read "Java Script". I can also not open some video links.

These problems are brand new - I could do all of these things until last week. I lost the ability to open JavaScript items after downloading an update to RealPlayer called Real1Player. Perhaps this deleted some software?

I would really appreciate some help on how to fix this.

Make sure JavaScript is enabled: Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced. Then just turn on JavaScript (enable).

Jona,

Thanks for the reply. I am sure that would have worked. However, in the meantime I tried something else someone suggested and that worked also. I used the Windows XP feature where you can go back and restore all your computer settings to a prior point in time. I reset to Mar 1 (before the problem started) and all is well. Thanks again.
