Is there a way to lock images online so people wouldn't be able to right click and save the image to their desk top? I thought I'd run across a site years ago that had locked its images preventing copying or saving. I'm an artist, and I'd like to protect my work, with out having to watermark everything to death.

do a search on google for no right click'
you should find a couple of scripts
There has been countless posts about this issue, and how you can protect your work from being copied. If you do a search in the forum you will find plenty of help regarding this issue. However, all these posts ultimately arrive at one conclusion. The bottom line is that you cannot completely protect your work from being copied. Your best bet is to watermark your images.
If you disable right click, anyone can easily press "Print Screen" and copy your work. They can also save your whole webpage (File|Save As), and get the artwork that way. There are plenty of other methods as well.
Search this forum and you will find many reliable resources.

if you disable right click, there are still other ways to get the source from
view>source for IE
view> page source for FF
JayM is right. I've hacked some images using the same methods described.
(Of course, this was before I knew better. ;) )

Watermark, copyright, and do not give them the full image until they purchase it or become a member. Make the image you are showing them a lower quality than the original.
I think the best way to but I dont know if its possible is: Attatch spywear to your image!!!

Simple answer: there is absolutely no way to keep someone from copying your image unless you watermark it, and even then someone with photoshop skills could try to hide the watermark. (Their success depends on how large and obvious the watermark itself is, thus increasing the difficulty in hiding it.)

If you have Netscape 7.0 all you have to do is "File/Save As" and the browser will save a decrypted copy of any encrypted web page for you (even those encrypted using $200 programs). Regardless of twhat you do with a web page the following applies:
images - easily copied
html - easily decrypted with Netscape 7.0
javascript - requires some effort if encrypted
